Laura and Gonzalo met at Razzmatazz, a famous nightclub in Barcelona, thanks to some mutual friends.
“However, I already knew perfectly well who he was because we had met a few times and he always caught my attention, I loved him! I liked him so much that I was super nervous on the first dates, but it seems that everything went well because six years later we got married.”
“When I started looking for my wedding dress, I saw that L’Arca also had a collection of dresses and I knew I absolutely had to visit you because I liked practically all of them. I didn’t want the typical wedding dress and I wanted something special, that’s why I fell in love with my dress.
I had been to six ateliers previously and I never had this feeling. The fact that it was a unique piece and made with antique lace so tastefully made it a jewel, and I felt very lucky to be able to wear it on such an important day.”
“I was able to verify what they say about falling in love with your dress at first sight, and as soon as you see yourself wearing it, you think: THIS is the one. “
Laura chose a dress made with antique lace from Granada, a nod to her roots. The custom-made dress was entirely embroidered with Granada lace. Underneath, she wore a slip dress with straps, which she wore during the dance. In her hair, she wore a star-shaped fascinator from Supertocadas and earrings by Simone Rocha.
Laura and Gonzalo got married on September 17th in the Sierra de Hornachuelos mountains in Córdoba, at their family home, a very special place for them. “When we’re there, we feel so good that we don’t want to leave. Since we didn’t get married at a venue specializing in weddings, we had to work incredibly hard to prepare the house and take many things into account.”
“We’re from Barcelona, and many of our guests were too, but we never doubted for a moment that our wedding had to be there to make it unforgettable and unique for both us and our guests. We also had to organize the logistics very well because it’s not an easy place to get to, but it was definitely worth it!”
They were married at the Discalced Carmelite convent of San Calixto in the Sierra de Hornachuelos. “My entrance was sung by the nuns who live in the convent, who sing beautifully. For Gonzalo’s entrance, we had a flamenco group who performed a lovely version of the song ‘Alguien’ by Siempre Así.”
Thanks to my mother’s and grandmother’s ideas, and Rafi the florist’s skillful touch, the church looked beautiful. We prioritized white flowers and lots of greenery because, being in the countryside, that’s what we liked best.
For the meal and the party, we went to the Mata-Román farmhouse, my family’s house. We made our entrance to the aperitif in the jeep that we use for walks in the countryside, which was decorated with branches of mastic, a plant very typical of the area.
After lunch, we opened the dancing with Sevillanas sung by the flamenco group. First, I danced with my father, and then with Gonzalo. The song they chose was “Por Amor” by Rafael del Estad. We enjoyed a lively time with the flamenco group’s music, and then we went down to the disco area to dance.
“Thanks to my mother, we arrived at the wedding day relaxed and knowing that everything was under control. She has the best taste in the world and I completely trust her judgment, so I knew that if I listened to her, everything would be perfect.”
“She accompanied me with so much love and care throughout the entire process, from beginning to end, from advising me on the dress and hairstyle to helping ensure that every last detail was ready for our guests. Without her, our wedding could never have been the way it was. I feel so lucky to have her and I will be forever grateful.”
