Is it possible to organize an elegant wedding in the middle of a forest? The answer is YES. Today we share a wedding in one of the most magical places to get married surrounded by nature in Catalonia: the eco-rural hotel La Masía la Garriga , in La Garriga de Castelladral.

Sandra and Ivan got engaged on a trip to Vietnam. “Ivan took the opportunity to propose to me there. We booked a hotel on an island in southern Vietnam, and while we were on the beach at sunset, he gave me the ring and wrote in the sand that he wanted to marry me.”
Sandra wanted a simple dress with drape and movement. “I wanted something that reflected my personality, that I felt comfortable in, and that also had special details.” Ruth from L’Baúl de Ruth took care of her hair and makeup that day, with magnificent results.

Sandra had a pretty clear idea of what she wanted. She wanted a long-sleeved dress with volume at the shoulders, a V-neck, and an open back. “Nina told me they were going to make it in muslin so I could try on the style, and if I liked it, then we would choose the fabrics to make the final version.”
“I trusted her completely because I knew right away that she understood what I wanted. And I wasn’t wrong. When I tried on the muslin, I knew I was going to have the dress of my dreams.” The look was completed with a flower crown, a short, voluminous, three-layered veil, and shoes that matched the Flor de Azoka bouquet.
Sandra and Iván had a very beautiful and intimate moment reading their vows . “We didn’t want to read our vows in public, so we decided to do it privately before the ceremony.”
“We got dressed in separate rooms and took advantage of the farmhouse’s interior to have a ‘first touch’ without seeing each other and read our vows.”
We stood in a corner, so we couldn’t see each other, and shook hands. We exchanged envelopes and each of us read the other’s votes to ourselves. That intimate moment was captured by photographer Dani .

On October 19th, we held the ceremony in the woods, in a shady spot below the La Garriga farmhouse. It’s a large forest with tall, majestic pine trees, where the sun’s rays filter through the foliage.
The space was decorated with a floral design integrated into nature by floral artist Mireia Abras .

Ivan walked confidently in to the music of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.” He confessed that the most exciting moment of the ceremony was when he saw Sandra walk in hand with her father, to the soundtrack of the movie Forrest Gump.
During the ceremony, Sandra’s father, a journalist, gave a speech that made everyone cry, including the vendors.

“My aunt and uncle have been dancing for many years, and we choreographed our dance with them. First, we danced a blues, then the music changed, and we danced salsa. What my aunt and uncle didn’t know was that in the middle of the salsa choreography, we were going to ask them to dance. Iván took my aunt, and I took my uncle, and we improvised the end of our dance with them.”

“And they were also in charge of organizing a dance with the whole family, which was a surprise for us. Suddenly, at the end of the banquet, everyone got up and started dancing. It was so much fun!”

“There were many emotional moments, tears, and also laughter and surprises. The people around us are wonderful, and each and every one of them made that day unforgettable for us.”
Here are some more ideas for elegant and simple styles.
