“Antique Affair” is the new capsule collection of dresses for romantic brides who love lace. But what does it mean to be a romantic bride in the 21st century?
THE ROMANTIC BRIDE
A modern romantic bride looks for a dress with soul, one she can identify with.
She seeks delicate and elegant garments, but filtered through a less restrictive lens than in the past. She loves craftsmanship and small details.
This new romanticism is reflected in comfortable dresses, in which the bride feels free; with tones ranging from off-white to ivory, with ruffles, translucent fabrics; bows, lace with small motifs and light embroidery, and elaborate sleeves.
The new romantic bride is very connected to nature and the simplicity of outdoor life
Opt for more environmentally friendly options, such as hosting local outdoor weddings with a rustic feel.
As a company, we are committed to these values and regularly renew our capsule collections as a valuable formula for brides who request unique and sustainable designs.
In our Barcelona atelier , we work with lace using various techniques: lace patchwork, tulle appliqué on different textures, and embroidery with discreet beads.
The dresses at “Antique Affaire” are unique pieces and are made entirely from antique lace and embroidery from our private collection.
It is perhaps the collection that best represents L’Arca’s philosophy: made almost exclusively with rescued vintage materials and fabrics, applying traditional artisanal processes that are carried out entirely in Barcelona.
“All designs are customizable and can be adapted to the bride’s needs.
Each design is unique, just like the bride who wears them.”
Nina Balmes, designer of the firm
Brides can bring their own vintage pieces or lace to the atelier. Alternatively, they can choose from the wide variety of pieces we have available.
Lace for a vintage style wedding dress
Rather than incorporating lace into dresses as just another material or ornament, it is the centerpiece of the dresses.
It is played as “fun”, with a certain modesty, broken by transparencies and strategic openings of the dresses.
“It’s a luxury to work with these dormant pieces, which one must know how to work with.”
listen in a slow process”
Nina Balmes
The jewel dresses are all made with antique lace, some from the late 19th century, handmade, point de gaze, Brussels appliqué, and embroidery such as Richelieu or Granada embroidery.

Love for details
It is an elegant and serene collection of unique, timeless pieces for a bride with a natural, unpretentious look.
We pay attention to the finishes and small details, such as pearly buttons, bows and belts.
The key lies in the accessories
The dresses are accompanied by removable accessories at different moments of the ceremony, such as capes, veils, and family heirlooms. We take care of even the smallest detail to create dresses with a vintage soul and a contemporary touch.
Accessories that sometimes go unnoticed in the bride’s look, such as antique Valenciennes lace petticoats , take center stage.
Visit us at our atelier in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, and share this new perspective on lace that becomes the center of the piece, recovering sewing techniques from the local community.
All dresses are unique, adjustable pieces and can be purchased online.
